Summit

Snow, cloud, an unsettled sky.

Palette knife on bare weave. The light is the canvas.

Swan Arch

A swan, an arch, still water.

Oils worked wet into wet. The reflection went in last.

Rust Halo

A face coming up through rust.

Poured and dripped, then scraped back with a blade.

The Roar

A lioness mid-roar, in open white.

Dry brush over wet wash. The drips were left to run.

Gilded

Gold leaf, turquoise skin, a crown.

Real leaf over black. It moves when you do.

Treehouse

A treehouse, deep in green.

Palm-sized, on its own easel. The smallest brush.

Jellyfish

One jellyfish, lit from the inside.

White pulled through wet blue in a single pass. Easel included.

Sea Gate

A gap in the green, a sail past it.

Thick green around a quiet middle. Easel included.

Cherry Tart

Cream, syrup and fruit.

Thick paint, no background just the thing itself.

A glass, a lemon, a pink afternoon.
